The Net.Art article was interesting because it talked about how the internet would be 'colonized'. Many artists feared that after awhile the internet would be colonized by media and capitalist organizations. This is pretty much true, the internet is now very much run by capitalism. However, The artists part of Net.Art lived in an uncertain time for what the internet could be. For them, the internet was a space for immaterial art. Many of the artists who helped form the Net. Art movement originated in Eastern Europe or Russia who saw the internet as a perfect place for community building and utopia.
